Change for Kids (Spring 2008)

Change for Kids believes that the foundation on which to build every child's future is an education. Give a child a book, you'll inspire him. Give a child a paintbrush, she'll become creative. Give four children a fish tank, they'll become responsible. Change for Kids is the conduit through which businesses and individuals can directly provide these tools to children in New York City's under-funded public schools. Since 1996, Change for Kids has been dedicated to improving children's education in New York City's most under-resourced public elementary schools and helping these children to develop to their full potential. CFK believes that every student deserves to experience and participate in the exciting cultural world around them. We work with schools, principals, teachers and volunteers to provide New York City public school children with access to the fine and performing arts, sciences and the humanities. CFK's programs benefit over 3,000 children annually.  Read more about Change for Kids here

Change for Change Changemakers Grant Program (Summer 2007)

Change for Change is launching a unique and exciting new program in 2007 as we expand our network of charitably-minded young adults engaged in philanthropy. The goal of the Change for Change Changemakers Grant Program is to empower young generations to help make a difference. To do this, Change for Change wants to recognize the bright, motivated and charitably-minded young people who have the vision and follow-through to make a meaningful difference in their local communities. In other words, we are looking for Changemakers!

The Change for Change Changemakers Grant Program identifies ‘Changemakers’ on college campuses around the country and empowers them to carry out a local fundraising campaigns. Students submit detailed plans for a fundraising initiative along with a faculty/staff letter of recommendation. A selection committee will choose up to five Changemakers who will receive both seed funding and access to Change for Change resources. Proceeds from Change for Change NYC's Hamptons Summer Soiree provided the seed funding to launch this exciting new initiative.

826NYC - Past Charity (Fall 2006)

826NYC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Their services are structured around a belief that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success. With this in mind, the organization provides drop-in tutoring, field trips, after-school workshops, in-schools tutoring, help for English language learners, and assistance with student publications. All of their free programs are challenging and enjoyable, and ultimately strengthen each student's power to express ideas effectively, creatively, confidently, and in his or her individual voice. Read more about 826NYC here.
