Abby's House is a multi-service, non-profit organization in Worcester, Massachusetts that serves homeless and battered women and children. Founded in 1976 by a group of activists led by Annette Rafferty, Abby’s House has helped thousands of women and children make their way out of the chaos of homelessness.
Abby’s House accomplishes its work with broad and solid grassroots support – nearly half of our operating budget is provided by individuals and community groups. About 200 trained and dedicated volunteers join our small paid staff to provide a lifeline of programs and services for women and children living in poverty. We are in this for the long haul, and we invite you to join us in our commitment to empower women to lead self-directed lives filled with dignity and hope. Dates: 2004-2005 Donation: $1,200
