New Chapter Launched at Holy Cross

The Holy Cross Student Government Association has created a local Change for Change chapter at the College during the 2004-05 academic year. Under the leadership of Director of Student Life Joseph Dalton ’05, the program encouraged Holy Cross students to give back to the community by saving their loose change over the course of a semester and donating the funds collected on campus to a charity selected by a vote of the Holy Cross student body.

“Change for Change is a worthwhile cause for Holy Cross students,” said Dalton. “This is a chance for all Crusaders to give back to the community.”

3,000 plastic cups bearing the insignia of the national Change for Change organization were distributed on campus by House Councils over the weekend of October 2nd and 3rd. After the collection of all change at the end of the semester, over $1,200 was donated to Abby's House, a multi-service, non-profit organization in Worcester, Massachusetts.
