Change for Change is a national network of young adults (ages 18-35) who are raising funds to solve critical community challenges. By starting a Chapter and joining the Change for Change network, you can unite with a growing coalition of committed, engaged, and informed young adults who are working together to turn their small change into big changes!
About Starting a Chapter
You can join Change for Change by forming a leadership team with your peers and launching a Change for Change Chapter in your college, university, workplace, or community.
Chapter leaders collect loose change and larger donations from friends, colleagues, and community members throughout the program year (July – June). Your Chapter then donates these funds to a local non-profit organization addressing an important community challenge.
So which causes and organizations do your funds benefit? You decide! Change for Change provides your leadership team with the tools, resources, and guidance to help you identify a cause and select a non-profit beneficiary. Emphasis is placed on smaller, local, community-based non-profits who have solid financial practices, a strong leadership team, and a track record of addressing critical needs. As a result, together we're developing the next generation of informed, empowered, and experienced donors.

Chapter Requirements
We work with your prospective Leadership Team through Recruitment and Orientation stages to introduce you to the program and evaluate if you have the key requirements in place:
- Team: Recruit a leadership group of at least three committed members
- Fundraising Goal: Set an annual fundraising goal of at least $1,000 for first year Chapters, and more for returning Chapters
- Sponsor Organization & Advisor: Identify a sponsoring organization and advisor to provide guidance and resources
- School: Chapters could be a new group OR run as a program of an existing group such as a student government, fraternity/sorority, community service office, or class project team.
- Workplace: Analyst programs or service project teams make good Chapter sponsors.
- Community: Young adult groups, professional associations, and other young adult associations make good Chapters.
After the Orientation stage of the program, the national office will make the final determination regarding the desirability and feasibility of a Chapter. Accepted Chapters are invited to sign a Chapter Agreement Form and participate in subsequent stages of the program -- Planning/Training, Charity Selection, Implementation, and Evaluation.
Applications from Prospective Chapters are accepted year-round on a rolling basis. Change for Change’s program year runs July – June. Donations made between July 2010 - June 2011 will constitute participation in the 2010 – 2011 program year.
